In conjunction with SabreCave 2003 and SWHSCS #1, GTFC Will be hosting an
FOC Referee Clinic, complete with Exam and Practical Observations. Referee
Clinic will be held on Friday evening, starting at 6:30 pm (dinner is
provided) and Saturday morning, starting at 8:00 am. Examinations will be
held Saturday morning, and practical examinations will be ongoing throughout
the day. The cost for the referee clinic will be $30 (with dinner on Friday
and breakfast on Saturday provided). There will be no cost for the exam and
practical observations, however, referees seeking to be rated will not be
paid per-diems (Lunch will be provided, however!). Scholarships are
available, sponsored by the North Texas Division.

The FOC Referee Clinic is a valuable learning opportunity for all people
involved in fencing, weather or not you ever intend to referee. Competitive
Fencers and Parents are particularly welcome. If you have ever thought the
whole ³referee thing² was mysterious and wanted to know why referees make
the decisions they do, this is the class for you!

To register for the FOC clinic or to inquire about scholarships, please
contact David Sierra @ 214-394-9106, or oso97@hotmail.com.
