    Fencing T-Shirts

It seems very hard to find good fencing t-shirts out there now. The main suppliet is the Big for your Britches crowd, which to me personally, is unappealling, since most of their stuff are knock-offs of large clothing chains such as Abercrombie and Fitch etc. I wonder if there is any interest in a simpler, almost punky-looking T-Shirt, with NOVEL content on them and something that screams that you are a fencer not a fashion ditz!!

I bought a really kewl t-shirt from Leon Paul a couple of years ago. Its basically a picture of the back of a fencer, she is holding her mask and weapon in her hand. Its done in b&W and is kinda kewl.
Theses are evil....VERY evil, someone rescue me pls!

    There's also http://www.fencingwear.com/.

Both of these sites have lots of nice t-shirts, but none of them scream BUY!! to me. Perhaps I'll wishlist them for the holidays...

Personally I best like te dark blue PBT T-shirt. I t has a small nailwork of the PBT logo (the letters PBT, three fencers in the Hungarian national colours - red, white, green) near the neck, and has extremely good material.
The other one I like is our trainings camp's "official" T-shirt, the Solti-Team shirt, with the contures of a fencer on its front and script SOLTI-TEAM International Trainings Camp Szombathely. Cool ones.

    adidas has a fencing t-shirt.

This day and age, you can always make your own using the iron-on printout of your fav foto.

Methinks if it's for your own personal use, no one's gonna challenge you for infringing his/her copyright. Isn't that right Philistine?

I'm surprised they used the 'SABRE' spelling rather than the US-spelling of 'saber'.

Well, besides the 2bigfor britches, which has a college girl appeal, I also did some websurfing and found Salle Honolulu's new webpage, [there are several sites, some are difficult to locate] but I did see bladewriter and there were some t-shirts there; and also if I may, the shorts are very good, I still like the shorts the best they're 100% cotton and the right length they're good for running etc. Speaking just from personal tastes, I like t-shirts to fit to-size; not too large in fencing they feel more comfortable, whereas men seem to like to wear looser fitting shirts.

I took a look at the photos and felt very sentimental when I saw Colin's photograh and Birthday cake, I never missed his birthday, the photograph was very sad to me, and I felt you all were experiencing something dificult, without realizing it, a very special little boy passed away on May 10th. I feel you all were very close to him in some way, you must have felt something happening. It was a total shock to all of us. He was my priests' son I knew him since birth.

That's the way I always spelled Sabre, but got into big trouble with the Saber fencers.

It has it's roots in the original english language - like Theatre.

ah, but are they a sabreur, or a saberist? That is the eternal question... *snicker* Beware, many offended UK citizens will drop from the coulds and beat your senseless if you were to say saberist (or body CORD, or KNICKERS, or STRIP, or lamee with the American pronunciation, or...)

disclaimer: fenced for 6 months in the UK. These are personal experiences. Anyone who is represented by these comments will know who they are, and in such, will be forced to take them for what they are, or revoke every utterance of "damn American" that has been let fly since a year past.

I think that Uhlmann or Allstar had a good selection when last I looked... almost a year ago. Some even apealed to me, t-shirt hater of the world.

    We are forever fence-sitting:
we can use either the Olde country's spelling or pronunciation or fall in bed with the US hegemony.

Ah the Sabre vs Saber question. I personally spell it "sabre"...most of the time. Basically, I like the way it looks as "sabre" so most of my designs use that spelling.

I do have an exception: for mysaber definition design I spelled it "saber" because I saw it that way in various dictionaries and since I was making up my own dictionary definition I thought I would parody the dictionaries I saw.

Btw, I also use the "theatre" spelling on occasion

P.S. I'll try to add some more designs that scream "buy me" and also a punkish style one. I carry 2 t-shirt styles especially for women. One is a "women's t-shirt": basically a better fitting t-shirt but still of t-shirt material (Hanes brand). The other shirt is a stretchier soft rib "jr baby doll t-shirt". I'll be carrying more women styles by sometime around next month.

You should check out the designs that the Smith College team has for t-shirts, http://sophia.smith.edu/hellsbelles/tshirts.html

If enough people email us we could start reprinting them.

Haven't ordered it yet. I think we're going to open up the hoodie market to the rest of the NE Division if they're interested first, then get them later in the year.

Sabre Fencre would make a good t-shirt. Mind if we use it?
