Sport Fencing and Swordplay Collection on display

Metro Tacoma Fencing Club, Blue Steel has entered their club collection into the Western Washington Fair this year. Known as the "Puyallup Fair", the exhibit is open starting September 5th.

The collection as displayed has something for everyone in celebration of the art, sport and history of fencing.

According to the Tacoma News Tribune, 9/1/2003, "The Puyallup Fair is the nation's 5th largest fair and is expected to draw a million visitors in it's 17-day run". We hope to generate good interest based on this exhibit; guess we'll have to see.

The collection received an "Honorable Mention" at the fair and a notation in the Tacoma News Tribune, 9/13/03. The collections aren't awarded ribbons.

Incidentally, I received an email that spoke of the great collection of Andy Shaw, USFA Historian.

Last night I watched Charles Selberg's great footwork video again, the collection displayed in his collection is noteworthy and extremely interesting. The camera operator pans the walls in the beginning.

that's it for this thread....
