[CFML] Weekend of Sword and Buckler according to Manuscript I.33

The Association for Historical Fencing is pleased to announce a weekend of
Sword and Buckler according to Manuscript 1.33, the oldest known fencing
treatise, to be held on June 14th and 15th 2003.

The weekend will begin with a lecture by Jeffery L. Forgeng at Columbia
University in New York City. Mr. Forgeng has translated this manuscript,
which is being published by Chivalry Bookshelf, and is curator at the
Higgins Armory Museum in Worcester, MA, the only museum in the Western
Hemisphere entirely devoted to the study and display of arms and armour.

The weekend will continue with a hands-on seminar on sword and buckler
taught by Stephen Hand from the Stoccata School of Defence, a historical
fencing school in Sydney, Australia. Mr. Hand is an IMAF Acknowledged
Instructor and the President of the Australian Historical Swordplay
Federation. Stephen, in conjunction with Paul Wagner, a fellow instructor
at Stoccata, has written a book on the fencing system of Manuscript I.33,
which is due for publication through Chivalry Bookshelf in the fall of
this year.

Detailed information on this event and registration forms can be found at
