[CFML] Ain't it Cool: Fencing


GREETINGS TO ALL WHO ENJOY CLASSICAL AND HISTORICAL FENCING. I HAD TO
PASS ON THIS LITTLE NOTE. MY GOD! DID WE HERE IN MILWAUKEE HAVE A
WEEKEND! WE WERE PRIVILEDGED TO HAVE MAESTRO RAMON MARTINEZ AMONGST
US AND IT WAS INCREDIBLE!!!!

GOT A GROUP INTERESTED AND RESPONSIVE TO LEARNING TO ONE OF THE BEST
MASTERS ON THE PLANET? READY TO OPEN NOT ONLY YOUR PHYSICAL PROWESS
BUT YOUR MIND AS WELL TO THE ULTIMATE TEACHER?! THEN YOU GET YOUR
HOMIES TOGETHER AND BRING THIS WALKING TALKING ENERGETIC SOURCE OF
FENCING KNOWLEDGE TO YOUR HOMETOWN OR CITY!!!

DO THIS!!!

IF YOU HAVEN'T HAD THE OPPORTUNITY, NO... THE PRIVILEDGE OF LEARNING
ONE TEENIE WEENNIE BIT OF KNOWLEDGE FROM THIS MAN THEN YOU RUN OUT
GET A SECOND JOB AND GET THE MONEY TOGETHER BECAUSE YOU DON'T KNOW
WHAT YOU SARE MISSING!!!


SORE? YES, WE WERE SORE... BUT LIKE ANYONE WHO WORKS OUT WILL KNOW
AND CONFESS: IT WAS A GREAT SORENESS THAT COMES FROM SERIOUS TRAINING
AND ATTENTION TO THE REAL THING!!!!

MY GOD IT WAS INCREDIBLE! OUR MINDS REELED AT THE DETAILED HISTORICAL
INFORMATION BEING EXPLAINED, WITH CARE, TO OUR MEAGER CAPSULES OF
LITTLE GREY CELLS BY THIS CALM AND GENTLE MAN!!! SUCH ATTENTION!!!!
NOW DON'T GET ME WRONG WE ARE FAMILIAR WITH THE WORKS OF AGGRIPA,
DEGRASSI, AND ANGELO. WE DO RAPIER EACH WEEK AND MY TEACHER IS VERY
GOOD.

BUT NOTHING COMPARES TO HAVING A REAL MAESTRO LIKE MARTINEZ GAZE INTO
YOUR TECHNIQUE AND GENTLY, BUT FIRMLY REPAIR THE PROBLEM YOU NEVER
THOUGHT YOU HAD OR COULD NOT WORK OUT FOR YOURSELF!!!

MY GOD I HOPE TO REMEMBER A SMALL BIT OF WHAT I ENCOUNTERED!!!

SO GET YOUR SWORDS, MASKS, GLOVES, KIT, AND YOUR HOMIES AND GET THIS
MAN IN. BETTER YET, SIGN UP FOR ANY, NO EVERY, SEMINAR THAT HE IS IN
CHARGE OF OR PLANS TO ATTEND, YOU WILL NOT REGRET THIS!!!!! IN FACT,
IT WILL MOVE YOU TO A HIGHER UNDERSTANDING AND BELIEVE ME IT IS WHAT
WE ALL WANT.

on April 5th and 6th.

While I probably would have phrased it a bit differently, I heartily
agree with the sentiment; until I took a class from him, I had no idea
what I'd been missing. That's the reason I organized the Redwood rapier
camp this summer.
If Mr. Baleywah was this happy after a weekend, just think how much
you could learn with five solid days of classes with Maestros Martinez
and Acosta-Martinez! It's cheaper than flying out to New York to train
at his school for a week (though I certainly recommend doing that too,
if you are able).
Don't let anyone tell you that there aren't qualified teachers of
any historical fencing styles left in the world. It's just not true.
