Greetings all,

As a new member of this group, I hereby officially
introduce myself. My name is Ragnhild Esbensen, I am
very much new to the whole fencing business, but
historical swordsmanship has interested me since I was
a wee lass. I am from Norway, but currently I am
working on a BFA degree in theatre arts in the USA,
and trying to convince my teachers of all the benefits
a drama student can derive from the study of real
fencing.

The thrill of the genuine, historical forms of fencing
was what drew me, but after having attended some
lessons and a workshop in rapier, held by Maestro Paul
Macdonald in Scotland this summer, I realised how
fascinating and applicable are the deeper principles
behind historical swordsmanship.

Where this path is going to take me I know not yet,
but it is a very interesting one. I am looking forward
to become a more active member of the historical
fencing community.

Sincerely,
Ragnhild V. Esbensen
