You're right again. Leaving in a huff, only to return. I love fencing, what can I say. The chit-chat is so irresistable!!

Captain, my captain [as in Walt Whitman....] How did you keep track of Tantricthonger's stuff? I basically lost track of his M.O. about two months ago. But, what is this stuff about the E rating? Are they still on that? I remember one guy who earned his E with like 7 other beginners in his pool, that was sort of weird; conversely, I met someone else who recently FINALLY earned his E, but he had to fence like two pools of 8, with 2 DE's and final bouts, and the field included 27 other fencers [I made 8th place] there were classified fencers, it was very competitive, so, there is a difference, so let them scream about it, vent, the board is great for that.

    Just a thought.

I just had an idea that, although it's a radical one, just might work.
What if somebody could make an electronic bulletin board where people could log in and discuss things of common interest? and to try to keep the converstions so you could make sense of them, you could, like, have seperate topics and stuff so that it wasn't like trying to have a conversation in room full of people just going on about 400 different things at the same time with no sense of direction.
You could probably subdivide the general areas into even smaller more defined topics that could be addressed by people that were interested in that specific topic!
and if you wanted to start a new topic, you could just go start one in a clearly defined area that would invite even more people that were interested in that particular topic.

I dunno, it's just a thought I had while reading this thread. If anybody ever tries this, I want patent royalties.

    ?

there shouldnt be so many people that think they know
everything. It really frustrates those that know damn little
And those of us who are average end up lost in the middle.

You know, those people that think they know everything are really annoying to those of us who really DO know everything...
Nothing is more frightening than ignorance in action.

    oh there is

Dragonfly has many other personalities on this site. Some are OCTAVIA, Mongo, it's me mango, 1357911 or something liek that. She is disruptive to the flow of conversation and rarely has anything important to say. It is usually easy to spot when she aquires a new name, so just watch out for her. Plus, many of the board members skip her posts all together.

The cost of travelling - not to mention flying to tournaments. then all those add-on charges on a plane ticket!!!

Sabreurs who argue too much even with the scoring machine.

Sabreurs who do not have a ref rating arguing with someone who does.

Fencers who do NOT know the rules. Esp. strong epeeists - it's mostly epeeists - who do not know the rules.

Fencers who know only bits of the rule and they argue about the rules with rated refs...

Whipper-snapper kids who think they know better than those who are more experienced than they are.

Sabre blades that break at the guard.

Sabre blades that bend at the forte!!!

Sabreurs who riposte with the flat of the blade to one's mask so he ends up hitting the back of one's head thus drawing blood and more [causing concussion to some degree.]

Fencers who wear masks that are too small so much so half their head is left unprotected by the mask...

Fencers who refuse to tighten the mask so they end up jabbing themselves on the mask during the bout.

Female foilists who wear epee masks so the bib covers half their chest target. And when one points out to them about the "illegal" mask they'd reply, "Oh, it's approved by the FIE."
    D'oh.

Fencers or any sportsmen/women who cheat.

    ==)========

    Non-fencing stuff:
People who wear flip-flops and actually let their footewear make the 'flip, flop' sounds.

People who walk without picking up their feet.

Tailgating drivers, drivers whoi couldn't drive.

    Lying politicians.

President Shrub and his cohorts. Oh yer, his bro Gov Jeb too. Too bad they missed Paul Wolfowitz, the most vociferous hawk of POTUS Shrub's cohort and got the colonel instead.

The wall the Israelis are building.

The so-called Israeli settlers. [...God gave this land to me! This land, this golden land to me. ~ excerpt from the theme song from "Exodus" sung by none other than the very religious Pat Boone.]

    Religious fundamentalist of any religion.
    Religious zealots.

People who think they are so smart that they created computer viri and worms.

People who drive with only one arm on the steering wheel. Usu this arm is straight out.

Drivers who don't know what they're doing while they drive.

    Boom cars.

People with cars and Harleys with loud mufflers.

Harley riders with those symbolic helmets.

    People with too many complaints.

    people

things that should not be: oversensitive people in a public forum
throwing around their opinions and ideas and not expecting opposing views.

    -----------------------------------------------------------
    disclaimer: for oversensitive people

this is an exagerated statement and is not meant for all concerned partys just those that are offended by it.
