| the Post Alot of you seem to be fans of the Fencing Post, understanably so, they have good prices and carry Uhlmann equipment. My question is this, what of the brand known as JL, sold from what I've seen exclusively at the Post. Seems like ok stuff, but really cheap anybody tried this brand?
Thanks!

| JL is the Chinese manufacturer that also produces
most of Blue Gauntlet's own-brand gear. The JL gear I've seen is essentially identical to BG's, except for the labels (sort of like Uhlmann blue/Allstar red).

| my dry foil and my buddy's electric epee are both StM's from the fencing post (the next step up in price from JL) I've fenced with her epee, and may actually like it better than my own Santelli silverstar.
$80 minus 20% is $64 - not a bad price, considering it gets you an Uhlmann grip, and socket as well as a german point.

| Sabre Lame I HAD a sabre lame from JL. It didn't last very long at all. I did take care of that lame, let it air dry, washed it every two weeks; and yet it still turned green on me. I don't think I will be purchasing a lame again from JL. I hope this helps you out.

| I bought a Uhlmann lame and even though I wash it every two weeks and hang it to dry, it's getting some very light greenish tint around the neck. My BG was worse, but I expected it to be a non issue with the Uhlmann. I guess it's just the acidic nature of my sweat. And perhaps that's the deal with the JL. Not that it's not decent, but that you have acidic sweat.

| I have extremely powerful sweat. I can go through a glove in no time. If you have issues with the durability of your lame and do not mind the weight, try TCA's heavy duty lame. Mine has lasted 3 years without ever being washed... btw how do most of you wash your lame?

| About once ever other month I hand wash mine in the bathtub with Woolite and warm water, then shower it off well to rinse, hanging it on a plastic hanger over the shower head to drip dry.
I also rinse it in the shower at least once every couple of weeks and let it drip dry.
