Tractor Pull Open at Baltimore Fencing Center, August 24th 2003

On Sunday, August 24th, the Baltimore Fencing Center will host its
almost-annual event, the Tractor Pull Open, which takes for its theme the
Maryland State Fair, opening that weekend and running through September 1. The
fairgrounds are located less than half a mile from the club, which will be good
news for the winners of the many tickets we will be handing out to fencers.

Two tickets each will be awarded to the first- and second-place male and female
finishers in both foil and epee. We will also be awarding additional tickets
to other fencers, and some will receive wristbands which entitle them to a
day's free rides at the Fair. There will be additional awards as well,
including medals for the top E/U fencers, and some tickets will be raffled off
to fencers (at no charge!).

As always, BFC will prove that the timeworn phrase, "There is no free lunch"
doesn't apply to us, as pizza will be served to all competitors.

Close of Check-in
=============

10:00 a.m. Foil A

2:00 p.m. Epee A

Re: P.S. on Tractor Pull Open

To be specific, we will be awarding:

As noted in my first post, two tickets to the first- and second-place male and
female finishers in both foil and epee. We will also be awarding additional
tickets to other finalists.

There will be additional awards as well, including plaquetors (small tractors
on plaques) for the top two fencers in each event; John Deere coffee cups for
third-place finishers, and medals for fencers 5-8; medals for the top E/U
fencers, and wrist bands offering a day's free rides at the Maryland State Fair
for the top male and female under-16 competitors. Plus some tickets will be
raffled off to fencers (at no charge!). Nobody knows how we can stay in
business at such prices!

For additional information, contact the club at BaltimoreFencing@aol.com, or
call us at 410-560-7988.
