Array Foil Blades I need to find a foil blade that works for me.
That being said, I've been reading the descriptions of the Vniti blades (I don't know anyone I borrow one from). So here's my question:
The descriptions of the Vniti foil blades sound very similar to the Hostin Plus blades I have used in the past (stiff and heavy). Has anyone used both Hostin Plus and Vniti foil blades that can compare the feel of the two?
Thanks -

Array My club has a couple of old hostin plus blades while I have a Vniti blade. As for comparison, Vniti blades are a little heavier but better balanced than the Hostin plus blades. In terms of stiffness, I have to say that the Hostin Plus blades were definitely far stiffer. Also, Vniti blades don't tend to kink, unless you are a really brutal fencer (I've had mine for little over a year now and practice with it once or twice a week and it has a very very slight curve). Vniti blades vary somewhat in terms of their stiffness so if you can, try out a few at a vendor or have something specific in mind to get them to select one. My Vniti blade for example, is nearer to the flexible end since I like to flick (the flex also comes from mid to the mid upper portion of the blade). One really nice thing about the Vniti blades is that they have a really good (but ugly finish), I have never ever gotten a metal splinter from a Vniti blade unlike my stm blades. Hope this helps.

Array Thanks! That's exactly what I was looking for!
The Hostin Plus blades are too stiff for my tastes, but I haven't found anything that lasts longer for the anywhere near the price. I'll have to try the Vniti blades now. Similar Threads -
