    Triplette Maraging Blades

Looking to buy a foil and epee blade (maraging). Triplette seems to be the only one selling size 4 maraging blades for foil and their prices seem pretty reasonable.

According to Triplette, the blades that they are selling are pretty much similiar to the Uhlmann or Allstar BF Blades. How do they sell for that much less than other vendors? Has anyone had significant experience with them? Are they worth the savings over an Uhlmann blade? I did hear a rumor that they don't meet as high quality controls as the german stuff.

Anyways, I am looking for a decent maraging epee blade that will hopefully last me at least a year. Would have liked a vniti but they don't come cut for the french grip. Thanks.

I started with a Triplette practice blade for my foil. Durable, held the bend well, not very flexible but great for beats/parries.

All in all, my limited experience was great. Not sure how much this crosses over to their epee blades, but hopefully there's not too much difference.

Triplette goes directly to the forge (BF) and they make blades to Triplette's spec, instead of the other vendors which sell the Uhlmann/Allstar BF blade - which they buy from the local distributor which they buy from Uhlmann...

Triplette cuts a middleman out of the process by having a direct relationship with the forge, so they can offer a similar product for lower price.

What is different about the triplette specs? is it just the name they put on, or is there lower tolerances for their blades?

They do now. The new Vniti blades are on the market, French tang and 15grams lighter!
    See it at Sword Masters

the only difference that i noticed between the Uhlmann and Tiplette bf fie blades is the brand name stamped into it. other than that, they are identical. hope this helps.
