Array San Diego Hey, I have been fencing for about a year, maybe more like 6 months, since I sort of stopped and started again.
I line in Rancho Bernardo, in San Diego, CA.
I would like to get in to competition, I took lessons for a while, and then couldn't afford them anymore, now I have a friend that was a team captain and coach in college, and he has become my coach for free.
How would I go about starting to compeete? Does anyone know of any commpetitions in San Diego? I have checked out the various clubs and schools, and would just like some advice. Where / how do I register? that type of thing.
Oh and if there is anyone that is in my area I'm really dying to fence someone new, so post and maybe we can get together.
thanks, later. I was standing by the edge of the watter,
Noticed my reflection in the waves,
And I saw you looking back at me,
And I new that for one moment you were calling out my name, -

Array Some of the folks from san diego may be able to help you better...but try this: http://www.sandiegofencing.com/usfa/
It's the website for the San Diego Division of the USFA. They will run any USFA sponsored fencing events...in fact, there's a junior tournament in early August listed at the top of the web page. You didn't mention your age or weapon, so it's hard to tell what kind of tournament you can do. The website has e-mail links to the officers of the division, and they can probably answer any of your competition questions.
