Zivkovic Bell Guard

Hello, I heard that zivkovic bell guards are special than any other bell guard because there is a special housing for the wire on an electric to go through (reducing the chance of it being cut off). I was wondering if anyone can confirm this, and if I order two foil guards from him they will come with this feature. thankyou.

Yes, there is a protected pathway for the wire. It works well. Adds some time to threading it thru, but worth the effort. While it does eliminate the possibility of breaking the wire with the grip, it does increase the chance of breaking the wire when you assemble the weapon if you are not careful. It does allow you to tighten / loosen / change grips or sockets safely without risk to wire. I got a pair of 120 mm foil guards, and they also came with nice neoprene rubber pads.

I saw the bells at Nationals. Very clever design. The guard is thicker at the opening for the tang so it may ad some weight. But all in all a very good design.

I can see pros and cons to it.

A litle more time consuming to put together and take apart and if you weapon is loos and the bell rotates on the blade I think your wire is going to break. Granted he bell should't be able to rotate like that but it could happen.

Cheers
