Buzzer plans

Hello people. I was thinking of making a buzzer device to help practice flicks and aid in dry foil judging.

Am I correct to assume that a standard electric foil, without enemy lamé and stuff, is a simple circuit with a switch at the point? Basically I connect the two prongs thingies on the bell guard to the rest of the buzzer circuit, right? If so, how exactly would I get a buzzer to buzz for about .5 seconds everytime the tip was depressed (some store bought timed switch? obese capacitors?)? By the way, I am studying to become a happy, fun electrical engineer, so I understand circuit diagrams if anyone knows how to make them.

Also, does anyone know of a website where I can learn about the specifics of how the electric foil scoring system works?

Because machines be expensive things as are reels. Buzzer boxes are 15-40 bucks.

You could probably made one, I think Physical Chess has already manufactured a device for foil practice, it connects to the socket in the electric foil, when you score a legitimate touch it buzzes audibly enough for a director, and a green or yellow light will go off for the fencer. Unless you want to invent a better one, the drawback in this device is that they're heavy and fall out once in a while.
