| Dear Dr. Paul:
Thank you for your kind invitation. I was looking forward to seeing your equipment at the 'round up' in Texas this year. But I can't make it. I fenced faithfully and posted over one thousand posts. Anytime you want to mail me a door-prize, I will accept it. I wouldn't mind an epee, or a body cord. If you sent the epee or body cord, I would fence with it all season and if it didn't break I would brag about the weapon on fencing101.com.
Happy sales to you,
Until we meet again,
Happy sales to you,
Keep smiling on,
Til then,
Happy sales to you,
Til we meet again!

| How are you going to verify that we are who we say that we are? Suppose I show up and claim to be Inquartata (the number 3 poster)? |

| and several unrecognizable. The unfortunate reality JEC is that I tell too much about myself on the board, and then something weird happens. For example, in a busy Shopping center in Hawaii, I was having lunch. A thin man sat at a table adjacent to mine and was speaking with someone on his cell phone when I definetly heard him refer to Arcon. I got upset and left. Recently I relocated. Coming home was great. I knew it was a mistake when an unlicensed *cab* driver *assisted* me to his vehicle for a drive home. It was scary. He had weird handwritten signs in his vehicle in reading one, it said "please do not touch the drivers things". Okay, I thought I won't. [hee hee get me out of here], he took a turn and several magazines fell to the floor. "Should I pick them up, or would that qualify as 'touching his things', I decided that I wanted to see his stuff, so I picked them up. They were serious bondage mags. I carefully placed them on the armrest. He was JUST about to mention that they were his, and shouldn't be touched when I said "Pull over here" like I want to check something. I get out, hand him twenty bucks and grabbed by bag and walked two blocks the rest of the way. BTW he had several biblical engravings on the window of his car.
WONDERFUL story to tell the kids.

I want to be at the round up,
but you know, I don't want to go by myself
So, I bought art supplies instead this year
And I'm painting a portrait of you. try and stop me. |

| Barry,
Sorry, but most convention/hotel sites generally will not allow you to bring in alcohol into a venue. They insist that you buy it from them (at EXORBIDENT prices). Also I think that Texas Law forbids offering free booze (except for tasting) at non-food type events. Sorry, but if you hadn't kicked out the Puritans in the early 1600's we may have taken a more Anglican approach to things like this!
Honestly, I would check with the USFA and Local Orgainizing committee first. Although, I would love the opportunity to try some English, as opposed to those other occupied territories, Ireland and Scotland, whiskies.
No offense intended, hopefully none taken. Am looking forward to seeing you in Austin. Hope you have some of the LP epee blades with you, I love them!

| I'm trying to think..... what about bringing a bunch of tiny sealed "Irish" whiskey's and tell the organizers it's a final toast for the Arconian Pub? |

Barry Paul MD Leon Paul | Unless we have pics of everyone, there's no real way to verify who's who.
hee hee...
You could go with the Eliott Ness identification in "The Untouchables" -- "Who would claim to be that who is not?" |

| On the other hand, Barry, you could sponsor a Fencing Net private party on your "hotel suite". |

| single malt...no doubt Barry, thanks for being a sponser here. Were I able to attend the summer nats. I would gladly enjoy a wee drap with you.
The approach I would take is"I'd rather ask forgiveness than permission."
So pass out the shots until someone tells you to stop.

| Don't worry. I'll show up at the booth and easily win the prize. I think I have about 2K worth of postings on fencing.net. And my name is clearly recognizable, either on my lame or my rear pants leg, back of jacket, side of mask, or underarm protector.
