| Visconti Grips Who designed the visconti grip and why do they think my hand bends that way?
It's by far my favorite grip to use, except it has one drawback I didn't notice the whole first year I fenced: the fingers aren't straight. It's not the fact that they don't make them big enough (the largest is too small for my size 11 hand...at least, it feels that way). If you were to look at your fingers, if they followed the grooves in the grip, they woudl spiral towards your thumb (the tip of the middle finger is over the knuckle of the index finger)! Am I a freak that my fingers bend straight down? This might not be so bad if the thumb-thingy wasn't so far back on the grip.
Does anyone else use the largest size visconti grip notice this?
Does a visconti grip bought someplace other than AFS have any difference (straight fingers, accomodating for a big hand)? |

| I love my viscounti but I use a size small on all mine. When you hold your grip if the tip of your middle finger is over the knuckle of your index finger, like you said than somthing is wrong, probably the grip is to small.
If yo get a chance try the russian grip, I dont like them because thire usually to big, but they are similar the viscounti but w/o the finger grooves. |

| My 2 cents.... I spent a lot of time looking for and trying xl visconti grips. For a while large just didnt seem large enough (though I generally where a large to xl glove). After using the xl visconti from BG for a while I actually found that the larges actually were easier to control with my fingers.
Additionally the back part of the grip on an xl tended to extend quite a ways up my wrist so I always cut them off a ways and filed them smooth.
After trying a brunch of grips and getting lots of opinions, I really like the Zivkovic (i think thats the name) in the BII size. There are a lot of different sizes so unless you know folks that have them and can try them, I would wait until you are at a tournament where they have them displayed so you can feel them all before buying.
In the end use what is comfortable to you and gives you confidence.

| I like the small Visconti, it fits great in my hand. But also a guy in my club with the same hand size hates it. I guess hands are so unique that you can't trust a size chart.
