Stripped Wire

When wiring an electric foil, which is less likely to strip/break the wire in the barrel: threading the tip on with the wire in place, or screwing on the tip and then feeding the wire through it?

Actually, if you install the barrel first and then try to thread the wire through it, you have a higher probability of screwing it up than if you thread the wire first and then install the barrel. Something that I do when installing the barrel is to make sure the wire is in the groove, LOOSELY start the barrel on to the threads and then move the wire back and forth to make sure that it isn't binding. Another thing to do is do this with the first two inches (5 cm) of the wire so that if you do manage to get it bound up, you only loose a little bit of the wire rather than screwing up the whole thing. Once you have determined that the wire is still running free, then tighten down the barrel.
