Array no, in fact, I don't think any of the videos are worth buying, save your money, stop buying their crap and use it for a worthwhile cause. -
Unconfirmed
Array don't know about the videos, but I printed off some of the footwork drills from this website which we used in the club last night - pretty good! -

Array theres a reason that clubs have coaches in use more than TVs/VCR's and reading books, fencing as a whole changes, it evolves, its hard to read a book that was made a year and a half ago, and have it still be current.
I havnt seen the videos off this website, infact i havnt seen any fencing videos, except olympic competitions.
Even watching olympic competitions, unless the video is of the last 6-8 years, its a little outdated in that fencing is always changing, one year its middle game, the next its use of the whole strip and so on.
Look at it like computer technology (only slower ) its always changing, buying technology of last year is dwarfed by the technology of this year.
Id save your money and spend it on a private lesson with your coach

Array The footwork video is a video of footwork exercises, designed to improve footwork in general, from the en-garde, all the way through to footwork combinations.
It is not designed as a magic 'use this footwork amd you will win' guide, but it is an excellent training tool and shows you what exercises to do to improve leg strength co-ordination etc as well as specific skills. I use it myself, as well as for the students I coach. It is certainly not designed to replace a coach or a lesson, but is to be used as an adjunct to these...
It also shows tou what correct footwork is, how to achieve it and how to train for footwork.
In my experience lessons are too short for the coach to focus on footwork, footwork can and should be worked on by the fencer in their own time lessons are for far more important things like tactics, blade work and honing distance (which can only be achieved with good footwork) etc...
Get the video get a lesson work hard...
This assumes that you are talking about the 'Tyshler' video.
BTW dont you guys who have seen it think the guy who does the voice-over has a GREAT voice? -

Array The footwork DVD is just like an intermediate lesson from a world renowned coach. The cost is worthed in my opinion. Footwork exercises are boring in general, and the video is a less boring system of exercises. Do not expect an instant cure of your fencing problems, but once again, if you have the extra cash is money well spent. -
ahhh wait now theres a problem .. should i get the sabre video which iincludes footwork?
or just the footwork? -

Array If you are already very good with your footwork, then you may not get much "pop" out of the DVD. But, if you feel that way, then I will gladly accept a return and refund your money.
If you are in the US, I'm offering free shipping on the DVD in June anyway, so if you like it, you get a deal, if not, you're only out whatever it costs you to mail it back to me.
The video/dvd is made by the Tyshler Fencing School. He taped this in Moscow and I've reviewed the DVD and think that it's worth the ~$30. I haven't received many reviews/comments back from those who have purchased it thus far, but I'll be happy to share reviews/comments once I get them from my customers.
There is a short video clip on this site taken from the footwork DVD. You'll need to have Real Player to view it. Link to Fencing Footwork DVD page

Array Craig - I have RealPlayer but I can't play it -- it just shows up as an empty image tag on my screen. -

Array Free Shipping during my Birthday! What can I say, the planetary spheres are in alignment. Well, I don't want to knock all videos/tapes or dvd's; but I do prefer Video's. Why not also feature Peters video list on your site in some section like in the book section? That way people can order them right off the net. DVD's and computers are a pain, even a CD is a pain; there's too much computer glitches to make it worthwhile.
Chris T, btw; your signature is way to suggestive; I found myself eating Taco's over the past several weeks, I haven't gained weight yet, but I can sence that it's a strong possiblity.
Speaking of Magic Cyranox11! we do have someone, whose name is not for publication, who's both a magician, a fencer, soon to be 'dad'. If the planetary alignments are just right, he may be born on an auspicious fencing day, like during the Olympics while some really incredible guy is lunging into a last minute, heartbreaking point.
And no offense, but the Footwork drills that we print off this website is like a book, it's not a video so there. -

Array If you have really bad footwork, you need to work on that with your coach. Similar Threads -
