Array Saber blades I have a question about saber blades. Back when my coach was competing (late 80s, early 90s) he used to used Russian and Hungarian style blades. Now, he swears by them and wants me to invest in them, only I really have no idea if they're worth what he claims them to be. Does anyone know about them and can give me a brief run down of them? Thanks -

Array I don't know about "invest", but the lower-tier Russian ones are as durable as any and cheaper than most. -

Array The Russian (Ukrainian, Lithuaian) are very durable and do pass the flexibility at a better rate than most. The negative on the blades is how the tange is welded on.
Balancing the blade is an iffy proposition. It can be done, but it is chancy that you will break the tang off. Donald Hollis Clinton, Jr. DHCJr@juno.com
