Soft Tip

The tip of my epee doesn't pass the shim test. Any suggestions how I can fix this?

The tip is a german tip. I seems to pass the weight test, but fails the shim test(s).

Tks in advance for any advice.

Remove screws. Examine the spring in the tip. If the coiling looks even, and only too long. Rotate 1/4 of a turn the spring that is in the tip. Retest without the screws, if pass, put screws, retest. You also can try compressing the entire spring a little bit, maybe is just a little off. In a german tip, the spring only goes into the plastic aspect of the german tip. If the coiling of the spring has an obvious turn that is too long, try to compress it with the tip of a screwdriver. You also can try compressing the entire spring a little bit.
