| Who is Going to Nationals? I am going to Nationals in Austin...not for competition ...I only get to watch...
So how many of this board are going?
If you don't mind, would you give your real name, weapon and events...
I am from a division that is not very competitive, not very many going...so I would like to look for others to watch.
I know I will be rooting for Sarah! (Note to self: find that post where she gives her last name and events...)
Even if you don't want to give your name, it would be interesting to see who is going. |

| I think there was a thread just like this earlier in May. But at any rate, I'll be there for my first SN. Div III and II foil. My wife will be there for her first in Div III foil as well.

| (You are right, CarlKnoch, there was a previous thread, started by Mo; sorry, I did miss it. It was at the end of April, and a lot weren't sure about their plans...so maybe this won't be too much of a bad thing to repeat.) |

| I HOPE to go, but considering that the stupid Post Office returned my entry envelope yesterday ( I mailed it SEVEN DAYS ago! ) and the deadline is the day after tomorrow it is going to be close.
If I make it I'll be doing Div IA, II, III and Vet MS. All on consecutive days. Hooah! |

| I would only qualify for womens epee division III and womens epee veteran; and they're 5 days apart, so i can't justify hanging around austin for 4 days to wait to fence one more event, so for the tune of $700. i would only get to fence 6 bouts, and DE's hoping to swing out of that and possibly on to another DE or pool? in Div III W/E. I was trying to see if I could drive in with some people and share expenses but it looks like not too many people are going from our area, and I don't know enough people yet here to pester them - I only know a few of them.
Two more days and counting, I don't think anyone's open yet! I thought of trying to share with one of the grungy boys, but they're not sure of me yet. I'm perfectly honest, straight, not interested in anything but fencing, and you all can go out drinking and whatnot, and I'll let you in late i just want to fence!
Year in Crisis.....on the other hand, staying home isn't so bad either.
Don't eat beef until further notice!

hmmm.... | Why yes it is.
You have to fence in your division qualifier for div 2 and 3.
Then, fence in your sectional qualifier in the open and place in the top ten for Division 1-A.
If you are a junior and win the Junior in sectionals you qualify for both Div 1-A and Junior.
If you win cadet or come in the top three in the divisional qualifier for Cadet, you get to fence in Division 2 too. If you are too young to fence Div 2 if you qualify for it, you can do it anyway.
Just about everyone can fence Div 3, just stand up and hold out that weapon!! (at the division qualifier)
You cannot be a C fencer and fence Div 3 or a B fencer and fence Div 2. However, you can be an A fencer and still fence Division 1-A.
If you are a veteran fencer, you qualify for veteran in the Divisional Qualifier by basically just showing up.
Any more questions?

hmmm.... | If you are a D-rated fencer, you can fence all three. You can't fence Division I, however, because the requirement for Division I is national points and this year you had to have a C or higher to fence Division I NACs, where the points are earned.
Division I and Division I-A are not the same thing.
