    Allstar and Uhlmann

What exactly is the relationship between the companies Allstar and Uhlmann?

Allstar owns Uhlmann (the acquisition was something like 15 years ago). They remain separate operations, but share many
basic product designs (uniforms, masks, gloves, etc.).

One difference that I have noticed is that all-star uniforms and lames seam to be cut for the slim runner type of body and the Uhlmann gear is more for the larger boned and more heavily muscled folk as far as their fit is concerned.

Oh, and All-star gear is trimmed in red and Uhlmann in blue!

Nope, same BF (Blaise Feres, a French forge that makes high line blades for just about everyone!) blades just with different names. Some of the mid range blades are StM and are decent but not long lasting, and most of the bottom range is either BF or whoever had a sale that month as I understand it.

I have never had a problem with any of their weapons. I think they are the best for epee and foil. I have never managed to break a saber blade without doing something really stupid so cannot say how they do with the old hack and slash!

    Hope that helps!
