Array Oh, I forgot to add that both of my coaches here in Germany are fencing masters, one from France and one from Germany. -
Epee on a good value lesson in 25 the 15 minutes, over sabre 15.
Simpkins and Anattergi.
Well is it kept to a budget...tightly.... -
Unconfirmed

Array Rich? As if!
I think most of us need a bumper sticker that reads:
"My kid(s) and all my money go to Salle (fill-in-the-blank)"
Now, we are looking at international travel this next year. Sarah's not the one who needs corporate sponsorship...it's the PARENTS that do! "Sometimes we, as coaches, get into that dictator mode where you just tell and you don't listen and you don't try to understand them." Tom Izzo, Mich. St.
"Fraud is the creation of trust. And then: its betrayal."

Array I get alot for my money's worth; I go to regular lessons twice a week for 2 hours and pay $90 USD per month. Then, I sometimes purchase a package of 8 private lessons running for 15 min. and pay $110. I can accomplish ALOT during this time- I have an EXCELLENT coach!!!

Array HA! You guys have it soooooo easy... $50 for 50 minutes....8 HOUR round trip to get to the club that gives the lessons ($20 for gas for our economical car). Equals $70 for 50 min lesson. -

Array At the fencing school I go to one 60 minute group class (Competative Foil) plus membership to the salle as well as being able to fence there any night of the week is $99/month when you sign a 12 month agreement.
Privates are $30/20min session.
If someone just wanted to be a member of the school and not take a class, it would be $50/month. Only members may take classes.
I've also seen lessons that the Parks and Rec gives that are $35 for residents of the city, and $55 for non-residents.
I've never been in the P&R class.
All in all I think that the school is overpriced for me as they haven't yet turned out any excellent foilists. Their foil and epee programs aren't that strong. They have however turned out top notch saberists, and if I were into that it would make it worth the while. -
Quit (no longer with us)
Array after reading todays newspaper, i don't feel good about spending anything on fencing, i'm going to the water cooler with this. -

Array $20 for a half hour lesson, once or twice a week depending on availability and my wallet. Plus club dues of $20 a semester, and a building membership that runs about $300 a year.
The coach is not accredited or anything and has no particularly impressive competitive record or anything, but is a good pedagogue passing on stuff he learned from the likes of Ed Korfanty. Eventually I will exhaust what he has to teach, I imagine, but it's been worthwhile so far.... Similar Threads -
