Now for a radical change to this thread...has anybody had any experience reinsulating the mesh after it wears off? What materials (paint) should one look for? Best method of application?

This is from a fencer who's managed to make his whole uniform conductive from sweat after a LONG, hot day of fencing. Nothing ruins your day like a hit to the face registering on-target.

Oh boy, a _long_ time ago I reinsulated using spray paint. Worked just fine. No more off-targets, no more rust. I went over the rusty spots with a stiff wire brush first to give the paint a good surface, then taped over the fabric, stuck the mask on newspaper, and painted away.

It kept on going pretty well, for another few months, at which point I was basically gifted an FIE mask and stopped using my first mask. Still looks just fine, but I haven't tested the mesh in several years.
