| Divisions + Rankings... A, B,C,D,E, is already a skills level. How much 'more special' can fencing get? It's already highly specialized with many categories, and so forth. We had an event a while back that had 75 participants and nearly half went home with an award. Every age bracket was recognized in increments of 9 years, for every weapon. It's precisely what the olympic committee objects to, and also, conincidentially what's wrong with government. If I didn't have to categorize everyone, maybe they would have finished the program.
For example: if an adult can fence with a kid, then the kids can fence each other. Have all U16 fence one category. Then 16.1 and up to 39 are another category; then 40-60 one more category, and anything after 60 is a miracle. The rankings are already there: U,E,D,C,B,A. Then according to their ranks fencers are scheduled into divisions. It's sensible, but alittle too detailed.
I JUST REALIZED, I'VE LOST MY MIND, I'M COMPLETELY IMMERSED IN FENCING TO THE POINT WHERE I ALMOST NEVER THINK OF ANYTHING ELSE AND I RANT....I'm going to stop.
