You need two working weapons. Two working body cords ( must pass at weapons check, not just work on a box ) are a good idea, if not mandatory. Mask which passes the punch and resistance tests. Lame which passes the resistance test: no, it need not be top of the line or a certain brand. Jacket, underarm protector, knickers, socks which reach high enough to meet the knickers. Glove. Manchette which passes resistance test. Working mask connector cord, a backup is advisable. Cup is strongly recommended.

Name "must" be either on the back of your lame or on the back leg of the knickers. I put must in parentheses because you WILL see people allowed to fence with neither...or even wearing someone elses lame...or with a masking tape name label, despite that being forbidden. ( The name rule seems to apply mostly to we lesser mortals. Top fencers are given "latitude". But hey, I'm not bitter... )

You must have your name in the uniform either on the back of the lame or your back leg and not on tape either any more.

Go to http://members.tripod.com/Purple_Fen...p_Package.html There's a complete list of required equipment for ALL US comps in the first half. Inqartata and Sallearmorer are correct about the name on the uniform.

As a practical matter, I'd recommend a minimum of 3 each for weapons & cords. You're required to have at least 2 with you whenever you come to the strip. If, for example, you start with 2 weapons and have one break in the pools, unless you're able to procure a replacement immediately afterwards (admittedly not much of a problem at Nationals) you'll only have one when you come to strip for your first DE.

Good thing thats not the case here in the states, cause FIE equipment is often twice as expensive as 350N stuff.
