Talk to George

OK. It took a little time for people to figure it out, but you now know that Curious George is an AI bot. For more info, check out www.alicebot.org.

George, tell us about yourself.

We can use this thread to talk to George and try to teach him things.

As you've seen, he gets confused with the long posts - the AI isn't that good yet.

I was pretty impressed with him. He is actually as coherent as some of the regular posters.

Cheers,
Craig

George, how do you defend against a flick attack?

Do you know why it's better to use a French grip?

This is AI? All it does is spit out phrases seemingly at random, and not really coherent....does it learn, or just keep spitting out general questions, and statements in response to other peoples posts.

I think it's more annoyng than anything else.

Of course....I've heard that about my own posts.........

Yes, that's pretty much what it does. A lot of the work in that area is done to try and pass the Turing test. Basically what these bots are based on is trying to rewrite your words using some kind of rules. They are basically tricking you into a conversation but they don't know anything about what is the meaning of what you say and what they say. However, Curious George might be more intelligent and be able to learn a little. I haven't followed the advances in this field for a while. Maybe I should visit George's website...

I have been informed that the technology is pretty cool....

Lets see! HOwver, I can see the novelty wearing off pretty quick, and this thing getting annoying.....

Again, I have to say I've heard that about my posts as well.....geez I'm lining myself up for these left right and center.

Hey gizbot.........tell me a joke. There was a sabeurist, and epeeist, and a foilest in a boat.......you finish

It's reported that he learns over time. I'm going to try to teach him about fencing.

Like flicks

and attacks

etc.

I say we put 135711 and Curious George in a chat room and see how long it takes the two to become virtually indistinguishable.

I see! well of all the nerve!.. I was delayed this afternoon, I had a guest for lunch. But there are more pressing and urgent matters....womens saber is in jeapordy! I just received word [via USFA magazine] that women's sabre, according to some man in new york, is 'unnatural', can someone please explain? Next urgent matter is fencingnet.com [named incorrectly in the survey] has taken 5th place. We're too clean folks. My only recommendation to bringing this site to number one, is to place craig in a chair on the front page nude, with a beer can in his hand. Get rid of the envelopes, and replace with daggers or wax lips; the emoticons need a little brush up too.

I Have to Fence this week!
