Yup, it is easy to know who you are talking to with some of the usernames... (was surprised at a couple of the comments...)

So, what do you think of the way that they have separated out the forums to be weapon specific, etc?

I just signed up. Not sure that I like the idea of fracturing the online community. I plan to stay here, but might cruise there periodically if it takes off.

Off to check out what's there.

I am all for encouraging the other forum: it is UK based and therefore might be useful to UK fencers (which I am one of). Still, i enjoy this forum very much.

I'm not so sure I agree with it having coporate sponsoreship by LP - whatever that means.

It means that Ben Paul (grandson of Leon), who runs the Leon Paul Internet side of things, also runs that forum. It is advertised heavily on LeonPaul.com.

I like having all weapons together. To be honest with you I'm just returning to the sport after about a 25 year hiatus, and when I left it foil was all that was available in this area. Nice to get ideas and strategies from other disciplines as I've always liked to try new exotic oddball things into the mix to befuddle and amuse my adversaries.

Well, yes it looks like they can make a abreviation to a type of f.uk, hey man cool, how about the change of a name , do it, man, do it , but seriously though there is a room for a second forum, only problem is the time zone difference, most of the fencers it is in America, they will prefer the bigger existing your-forum, and they will the time zone it is a skew to
    Like, go fence , buddy.

The smilies are great over there! (Hey, simple pleasures for simple minds, I like little twirly Star Wars pictures )

I've registered under Aoife (if anyboyd's in the slightest bit interested). Lets see how long until I acn beome a senior member there (I spend far too much time online- I think it took me about two weeks here.... I seriously need to unplug myself from this thing once in a while )
