All s2000 saber blades weights about the same because of the rules
it's the way you blance the blade that makes it's feel lighter. The SG
blades from BG are real nice

NOT SO I have found 2000 saber blades vary in weight by as much as 40gms, thats
almost 2oz. 150 to 190+gms. I am a veteran fencer and take pains to get the
lightest possible blades. My friends say that I have too much free time

i use the fleche, Y shaped and the square shaped they last long and are fairly
cheap. the chinese blades are less expensive but also break very quickly.the
france lames are expensive and break. the leon pauls are expensive and dont
seem tolast as long as the fleche

I found out recently that the balance of the blade has a lot to do with the
sensation of weight. No surprises of course, but the differences can be
    pretty dramatic.
