Electic system My son's school fencing club is considering an electric system for epee'.
Are there any suggestions where a complete "System- reels, cords, control
box" could be picked up at a reasonable price? I saw the one on Ebay, but
that seems a little out of the kids price range. I am in no way saying that
the Ebay system is not worth it, but the last two bids put it over the kids
range. Any suggestions would be appreciated. -

Favero and Eigertek (American Fencing Supply) are about the least expensive
scoring machines I have seen. We have a number of Faveros permanently installed
at the Boston Fencing Club with excellent results. But the plastic cases might
be subject to damage if packed away every time.
The Eigerteks are well spoken about and can run on a nine volt battery, an
advantage.
There are so-called floor reel systems which are not too expensive (Triplette
or Blue Gauntlet, probably others). They are inexpensive but annoying to tape
down every time you use them. But they would be usable until you can affort
Uhlmann blue turtles.

Bill SG as come out with the SG 11 which runs about the same price as
the Favero and Eigertek. I picking up one at the JO's from Blue
Gauntlet.
