Glove sizing question

Okay, I'm not entirely sure what size glove I should be using, and I'm hoping one of you might have some insight.

A "large" glove on me usually fits slightly big, with almost 1 cm or so of slack in some of the fingers when curled into a fist. The glove fits AROUND my fingers okay, not loose but not terribly snug.

A "medium" glove fits very snugly on my hand, such that it feels like the material is stretched slightly around my fingers. The length of the fingers seems about right, but just barely so, and coming up a tiny bit short for my longer fingers.

So, basically, L is a TINY bit too big, and M is a TINY bit too small. I figured ordering large is better and will get more life from the glove, so I recently ordered a size L glove. I could still call and change the order before shipping, though, so did I make the right choice?

I would call and change to a medium. One item of note with leather, it will stretch. What is now snug, will soon not be so snug. It seems you found the right size with the medium.

To measure glove, wrap a tape measure around the 4 fingers at the bottom knuckles. The number of inches is the number size.

That's funny...my experience with leather is that it usually shrinks to fit. Sweat and all that...

The large should mold itself to your hand eventually, the more you use it. But, that's my experience. Someone could have a different one.

It's too late. The wheels of commerce are in motion and you are stuck with the glove you have ordered. This will require you to get plastic surgery in order to increase the size of your hand. It will be odd when you need to clap... at say a music concert... but you and your future "freak-footed" wife will get used to it.

Heh. Just to followup, I DID call back and change the size to a medium, and it fits, well, like a glove. Near perfect. A large woulda been wrong. So, thanks DHCJr! You saved me having to make a return (or worse yet spend a year or so with an incorrect glove before realizing it).
