acquiring custom gloves

So, my allstar gloves came in the mail, and fit exactly the way I remember. A little tight in the had, and long and wide in the fingers.

Is there any way to get a professionally made glove made to measure for my hand? I feel like it should be easy, I don't want any different materials, i just want the fingers cut smaller and narrower. I'd totally be willing to pay extra. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Leon Paul seems open to made to measure for the uniforms. Do they do the same for gloves?
Any other manufacturers with an M2M set up?

You'd probably have to find someone that makes gloves normally and see if they'll do a one-off for you. So long as the glove meets the rules (and there are only 2 really....the cuff must cover half the weapon forearm, and the glove may be padded.....in truth, you could sew a golf glove to a sock and it'd be legal. Not GOOD, but legal)

The problem you'd run into trying to get a custom glove from a fencing supplier is the patterns are pretty much all the same....and it's too expensive to make a special pattern for one glove.

I run into this a lot if I get a client with long fingers. They always have a gap between the crotch of the fingers in the gloves and the same area on the hand.

I have seen DIY solutions of varying success out in the wild. Recycling a cuff from an existing glove, sewing it onto another sports glove. Apparent success in this venture hinges on smart choice of glove to start with (batting gloves with closure on the back of the hand is probably not the best choice) and the skill employed attaching the cuff to the glove.

Triplette's website touts their custom work for uniforms. If money is no object they might be able to do the same for a glove.

I know there's a lady in our division who has a glove with just the original cuff. She took it to a glovemaker, and they rebuilt the "hand" part for her out of leather. If that makes sense.

These folks are glove manufacturers and make a leather fencing glove. You might want to look into a glove manufacturer closer to home. If nothing else, have a look at the posters they offer.

This. Unless you have sewing skills. I am an amateur [wait...I don't want to say "sewer," and I'm definitely nothing "-ess," so would I be a "seamster?" That makes me think of a sewing union...] person who sews things from the occasional dress for my daughter to repairing fencing textiles. I can definitely see adjusting the fingers of a glove as being fairly easy.
