Full tme fencing

Hi guys I was just curious as to how people like Richard kruse and Laurence halstead earn their money because I remember reding that they both fence full time and as someone wo wants to do this in he future I was curious as to how they make their money

They receive money from BFA based on their international results and that they fence Men's Foil. As far as I know BFA does not provide similar level support to other weapons.

Many European fencers are paid to fence, similar to many other professional sports. They are paid monthly, according to a former professional fencer from Russia with whom I am close. It's not a lot of money, but it's a decent middle-class income. Plus their travel expenses for all of their competitions are covered by the federation I believe. It's basically their job.

If you make top 16 in the world they'll probably support you too. It's are you likely to win an olympic medal.
