PLUS California Adventure in the old lot...otherwise the walk to the D-Land gate would be like the Bataan Death March....that lot was the size of a small country!

There is only one nonstop flight available, not at a great time and more expensive than the other airports...but perhaps it balances out. How far is this airport from the venue?

Around a half hour drive....of course, that's presuming traffic is actually MOVING...a crap shoot at best in SoCal.

You locals are so jaded and pessimistic about the traffic. It's not THAT bad. My biggest problem has always been taking the wrong freeway exit and getting lost...

    Oh yes....it is!

That happens to us, too...especially when there's construction going on and you suddenly find your next 5 exits are suddenly closed!

High way system is one of the best. It is unlikely one will take a wrong exit however, it does have one of the worst traffics. Check your google maps in advance.....

Oh, it's very likely one will take a wrong exit. With me it's usually when I think that the exit for, say, I-5 is going to be on the right, but find out that instead it's on the left---too late to cross 6 lanes of heavy traffic to make it in time.

Another thing I appreciate about this year's schedule: all the weapons have the Vet Team event the day after the Vet Individual competitions. The last two years, WE at least had the Vet Team event before the individual event -- while fun, this will be much better (and I believe will mean more teams fencing).
