Plastic semi electic foils Has anyone used the plastic semi electric foils I've seen on other
sites? Are they useful or just a gimmick? Are masks recommended? How
safe are they, as in will they break? Do they act enough like a real
foil to be useful?
I can't get a response from Zitkovic.
Thanks,

If you like to see out of your eyes, you'll wear a mask.
Last year at a highschool tournament I saw some kids fooling around
(a.k.a. practicing) with them. They are as whippy as hell and very
light weight. You'd really have to try hard to hurt someone with
them, but you still wear a mask. No sense in setting a bad example.

These are intended mainly for smaller kids, 4-8 years, as they are so light
weight, and flexible, but they CAN be broken if abused by older, stronger
kids/teenagers.
(the last ime I checked...)
Zivkovic sold these with small lightweight helmet/masks of his own design;
he might sell them individually, as well, but I beleive he is getting them from
carmimari fencing equipment manufacturer in Italy; they're about 30 EU www.carmimari.com
(but I think it's only in italian...)
