Fencing Expert
Array Peter: How did the first two Swedes ever start talking to each other, without a third to introduce them to each other (perhaps they had a mutual friend from a much bolder country)? Since I have seen movies in which Swedes are engaged in conversation, I know it must have happened at some point. Or is it, like those big fighting robots which are all the rage, just CGI with voices dubbed in? :-)
Dramamine: You are correct in my use of the term. There was a time in the 90's when a hit could be scored (and I saw many fencers practicing) with a flick executed with a quick "chop" of the arm to the front of the opponent's target. Those actions are much harder to do now.
I didn't have time to watch the entire video, but I don't disagree that as an exercise, envelopment-like actions might have a purpose. I do find, however, that making successive takes (either in the same line or in two different lines) can accomplish much the same thing, with more utility, from a technical point of view.
