    2012 Super Youth Circuit At Mission

    The Super Youth Circuit (SYC) is Sanctioned by USA Fencing. It is a group of events throughout the country for youth fencers in the Y14, Y12, and Y10 age categories in all six weapons that provide an opportunity for young athletes to experience elite competition, earn national points and prepare for future nationals events while limiting travel time and expenses for the fencers and families.

    Waiver must be filled out and brought when checking in.
    Please also bring USFA Card and Government Issued ID to check-in (Passport, Birth Certificate, etc.)
    Fencers must check-in each day by close of registration of their event that day.
    Fencers are only permitted to fence in one event per day.

    Full equipment check is required:
    Lame, Mask, Head cords, Body cords, cuffs.
    Fencers only need to have their equipment passed once for the duration of the SYC.

    Pre-registration Deadline is April 9th 2012.
    Payment must be made Via Askfred.net
    Registration is not complete until payment is made.
    $40 Registration
    $30 per event

    Triple Fees: April 10th to April 30th
    Registration Fee: $120
    Event Fee: $90

    May 1st Including Walk-in:
    Registration Fee: $120
    Event Fee: $90
    Late Charge Fee: $200

    Names are NOT Required to be on the Jackets or Lames.

    Fees are set by the Youth Development Committee and exceptions cannot be made. Please make your registrations early to avoid complications.

    Format of the events:
    One round of pools with 100% promotion to a Direct Elimination Table.

    Seeding:
    1. Current national rolling point standings according to age group and weapon. The filters down the entire list, not just the top 32 as done in a NAC.
    2. Letter Ranking with year classification
    3. Athletes with neither of the above are seeded on a random basis after the athletes who are seeded by the preceding factors.

    Initial Seeding will be posted starting May 2nd on http://www.missionfencingcenter.com/results

    Blade Length:
    For Y10 events, a 30" or 32" blade is required. For Y12 and Y14, standard blade length of 30"-35" is permitted. These rules are strictly enforced.

    Engraved Medals will be awarded to the top 8.

    Thank you. SYCs have been trending away from coveted medals to cluttery ticky tacky like plastic trophies coated in metalic paint and bulky plaques. (The exception, of course, being Capital Clash whose Jefferson cup is viewed by some as an heirloom.)
