Array Stro Memorial ROC and Jeff Wolfe ROC: Not on FRED?? I've been searching for more info on the Stro Memorial ROC and the Jeff Wolfe ROC, both Div 1A events.
The only thing I've been able to find is their listing on the National calendar, both scheduled on 28 APRIL 2012. I haven't found any info on FRED, nor can I find it via a simple Google search.
In past years, it seems that both of those events have been posted on FRED between October-January, for an April event date.
Too early to be worried? Anyone else have legit info? Better to plan on going to others?
Thanks -
It is pretty frustrating. My kid has a conflict on one of those days that weekend, but not the other. It's impossible to know whether attending will be possible without knowing date/time for each event. -

Array Possible that the venue hasn't been secured yet? Last time I saw Notalent, he was looking for a place for the Stroh. -
The Jeff Wolfe ROC is always at the host club, so venue would not be an issue in that case. -

It's bounced around...LAIFC one year, I think...CalTech last year. I know they were looking at a space near Van Nuys airport for this year. -
I would think that having the location would be part of the bid, but I guess not. -

Array Jeff Wolfe ROC should be up in about a week. Just Finalizing everything (Schedule, Hotel, etc.) The ROC has both Div 1A and Div 2 Events. -

Last year, I believe Mission held the div 2 ROC and the div 1-A ROC on separate weekends (I think I might have attended both). Can't fence the div 2 anymore...but am curious as to how all these events will fit in one weekend! (Hope you negotiated with the same hotel. I like the free breakfast.) -

Thanks for the update. Could you let us know in this thread when it's up on FRED? I've noticed some groups update the FRED ROC page, some just regular FRED, and some both. Any updates will help immensely, especially when searching for affordable plane tickets -

Array I spoke to Junior D'Asaro on a different matter today and asked him about the location for the Stroh. Nothing definite yet...still looking for a venue. -

It is pretty surprising that this proposal was awarded. The bid packet states under Tournament Evaluation Criteria: "The fencing venue is the single most important element
in hosting a successful tournament". A significant number of additional criteria are listed with detailed venue requirements. It seems odd that an event without a venue could pass this evaluation. Was this the event that was awarded to cover the region that didn't submit a bid? Seems like more months have passed since this event was awarded than the other bidders had to put together the other bids. If a venue can't be found by now it might be time to broaden the search. -

I'll have to ask Junior why it can't be at CalTech again....he teaches there (unless he's moved on and I just didn't know about it....very possible, since he's trying to open up a new club in Torrance) -

That's fairly old news. I now dangle to the left....my tassle. Get your minds out of the gutter.

Array Stroh added to Fred today http://askfred.net/Events/moreInfo.p...ament_id=17937
Note the different dates...a week earlier than on the USFA schedule.
If the venue's the gym I think it is, there will be plenty of room. Similar Threads -
