It could be an attempt to save what is percieved by many to be a dying sport. American boxing has huge problems with corruption and a general lack of interest.
I was watching a sports business show last weekend which had a commentary on a potential Pacquiao Mayweather fight. The gist of the piece was that the fight would not revitalize boxing, but would be it's "last gasp".

While in my sophomore university year, I played a part in a comedy play, in the role of a Roman housewife. The gal playing the husband to my role was at least a head shorter than me. However, my singing was at that time good enough to fool some people who had spoken to me before to think that my role was sung by a female. Not sure if I could find some old photos, though.
