No, just as the mask evolved and we introduced a foil mask we needed more space in the extrusion to make the mask bib easier to make and allowing more tolerance for different thickness of plastic coating. When we finish the five years supply of sabre mask extrusion we might standardise them.

Array The mask arrived and I got to fence in it tonight. It is nothing short of amazing. Thank you everyone who encouraged me to spring for the X-change with the ice padding. The $240 isn't cheap, but the mask is worth every penny.
Now I suppose I should update that profile pic, huh? -

Array I also recently bought a X-Change mask and echo some of the comments in this thread. It is amazing and I am very glad I made the purchase. -
Why all the hate for the x change look? I always thought it looked sleek and modern, but it seems I'm very much in the minority. -
I have to say that I can't see anything wrong with a diagonal line between bib and shell rather than a straight one.
In fact if you look at photos of them side by side eg here http://www.leonpaul.com/acatalog/Epee_Masks.html I prefer the look of the x change. -

Array Yeah. They're also just functional. You're not going to pull in any of them.
Must be a taste thing.
