    FWF mask

I've got a slight problem with my FWF masks. There is a fabric tongue piece in the top which has the FIE certification and which serves as a cushion for the mask resting on the top of the head. It has a real tendency to flop down when I take the mask off between bouts after sweating in the mask. I've tried velcro with adhesive. But sweat seems to nullify the adhesive.

Any suggestions as to how to make it stay in place?

Was the velcro so you can take it off? If so, then your problem is that the velcro adhesive isn't holding to what - the fabric or the mesh?

If it's velcro to fabric - sew it. If it's velcro to mesh, rivet.

If its fabric to mesh that is the actual problem, then I would be thinking rivet.

Well, I was kinda hoping for a clean/professional look.
Maybe just a bit of sewing will do it. Ah well, keep on keeping on.
    Thanks

I wouldn't think it that difficult to stitch it to the mesh (hardest part may be getting the needle through the pad). How clean/professional it looks depends on your sewing ability.

If it is vinyl to vinyl contact, use vinyl cement. If necessary, a swimming pool patch kit.

The tongue covering should be vinyl. But what is the material of the pad? If you are more specific about the material, we might be able to give more specific advice.

    I second the duct tape.

If you go the sewing route, don't use the piece of adhesive-backed Velcro you've already tried. Although the adhesive may not have stuck to the mask well, it's still there and it will stick to the needle and thread, making the hand-sewing much harder than it needs to be.
