Putting a foil together

I've bought a plain BF blade and will soon have all the parts necessary to put my own foil together - now I just need to find out how .

The parts of the process I'm really worried about are the wiring and the setting.

Wiring - I'm familiar with the innards of the barrel etc from replacing tips, but not with how I go about putting one on for the first time. Are there any common pitfalls that could cause me to break the wire?

Setting - people have told me all sorts of things about setting the blade, from using a vice and some weights to those who do it by hand with a wrench...any more idea? I am resigned to the fact that I'll need a proper work bench and vice eventually, but I was hoping to put it off a little longer. Then again, the wrench method looks pretty risky

Hello Kini Mini! I've heard you have trouble putting your foil together. Since I'm also new at this, I really do not know entirely how to put one together, but you should bring it to your fencing club or coach and ask them to assemble it for you. Or if all else fails, call the company from where you got from and ask to send it back so they can do it for you. I hope your foil turns out ok!

Actually, I don't need this foil in a hurry - I already have 2 working weapons - I thought it would be useful to know how to do these things myself instead of always paying someone else to do it.

Step 1 Clean the new blade with rubbing Achoal to get rid of any grease or dirty.

Step 2: Run about two inch of wire though the barrel lay the wire in the grove of the blade tighten the barrel on the blade if the barrel side have two flat spot that takes a 5mm wrench to tighten the barrel on the blade.

Step 3 : Pull the rest of the wire though the barrel carefully laid the wire in the grove wrap the wire around the end of the blade. Bend the Blade and glue the wire in place.
