Fencing terminology translations...

We have recently had 3 Bolivian sabre fencers join our academy, and while the universal language of fencing is French, I was looking for some Spanish translations for fencing treminology. Seems my Spanish-English dictionary just isn't up to date with anything I can remotely assume to be correct!

Any possible help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!!

All I know is that fencing=esgrima, fencer=esgrimista, sabre=sabla. Have you tried Babelfishing?

All I know about Spanish and fencing:

I do not think that that word means what you think it means.

I would recommend them to check the fencing forum (en Espaņol) at: www.esgrimamex.com

This site is ranked #7 in the world in terms of traffic for fencing websites by Fetchen.de (The Fencing Net website is #1 - Congrats to Craig) fechten.de Traffic Rankings for Fencing Websites

The translation of the FIE rules are also available in the website of the Spanish Fencing Federation. Reglas de Esgrima en Espaņol

Thanks for the links. I went to esgrimaMEX and ran a translation for most of the site - interesting results, but it gave me what I was looking for. The FIE rules in spanish at the other site were a great plus!
