To Throw into Confusion
This means making the enemy lose resolve.
In large-scale strategy we can use our troops to confuse the enemy on the field. Observing the enemy's spirit, we can make him think, "Here? There? Like that? Like this? Slow? Fast?" Victory is certain when the enemy is caught up in a rhythm that confuses his spirit.
In single combat, we can confuse the enemy by attacking with varied techniques when the chance arises. Feint a thrust or cut, or make the enemy thing you are going close to him, and when he is confused you can easily win.
This is the essence of fighting, and you must research it deeply. -

Array feints i would guess that feints exist in every marial arts or fighting sports, kendo, fencing, karate forms, judo, boxing; you feint to the right and move to the left; football has feinting movement, pass the ball feints; basketball feints etc etc. It's an interesting diversionary movement. Someone very clever must have devised it. -

Array Re: feints How can you feint in kendo if you have to anounce a cut to head flank or chest?
Or is this rule not applied anymore (i got an old book)...

That Guy
Array You only have to call the final hit, and you call it at the same time that the hit lands, not before.
Common combo is feint to hand/forearm target, then hit to head. Or, feint to head, then hit to side/flank when they bring their shinai up to parry.
Cheers,
