Another question, i was wondering if it would be possible for fencing.net to put up a chatroom. forums are nice, but it would also be nice to be able to have realtime convorsations with people.

This has been discussed several times. It is the general concensus that the forum is better as it allows people to go back and read what people have written days ago.
However, simply give out your AIM or MSN ID and have group chats if you'd like. I did that a few times when I first came.
