Wires for a Leon Paul point My club recently purchased some Leon Paul TiN points. http://www.leonpaulusa.com/acatalog/...wire_Kit_.html
One blade has since broken and I can see the vultures circling around another one. I had considered purchasing some bulk LP wire to do the repairs (and to have spare wire). http://www.leonpaulusa.com/acatalog/...Foil_Wire.html
However, I feel that the insulation moves too easily and could lead to shorts. No failures yet, but it still worries me.
Does anyone know if German Foil Wire will work with LP points? http://shop.fencing.net/product_p/fwf1021.htm
In the alternative, does anyone know of a source for bulk wire besides Leon Paul? -

Array We are having this foil wire made to get past the problem with the cotton insulation on LP's stock wires from snagging and causing shorts/grounding:
Check out our Paul Plus foil wires: http://shop.fencing.net/Paul_Plus_Fo.../fdn-49011.htm
Our current batch uses a green color instead of red, but everything else in the description is the same.

Array To answer your first question, IIRC the plastic cup of a German foil wire won't even fit into the barrel of a Leon Paul foil tip so that's a non-starter.
The answer to your second question would be either the Paul Plus wire that Craig recommended or buy bulk wire and build your own - although if the Paul Plus wire uses the same wire that Twisterfencer used to use for his wires (which I suspect it does) then I doubt that you'll find a better wire. -

That's the same wire used in the German wires I sell now....VERY good stuff. -

I bought a bit of the Twisterfencer wire from Sword Masters, and I make my own foil wires for my LP foil tips, and I must say that wire is pretty good stuff. -

I have to say that it's really good wire as well.

LP TiN point with FwF German wire inserted
It fits. I use these in my epees now after having problems losing contact pins in the LP wires.
The photo just shows it inserted into the point, it goes all the way to the bottom without too much trouble. I use a point-setter to get it down there. -

I must've misunderstood...I though you were talking about foil wires. For epee, the wires are pretty much interchangable between the major makers. -
