| Favero reels OK, anybody seen these things yet? My club isn't actively searching for reels, being very pleased with our ability to deploy pulley systems every practice.
If their propaganda is accurate, however, and they hold up relatively well, they're an excellent value for reels -- Favero is selling them direct for 198 Euros, and Swordmasters has them for $275.

| After seeing a set of the now I won' t to replace the spring on one of them. There are square in shape come with a carry case and two floor cords which are nice floor cords. It's a three springs system they also acts as the commuter for the ABC lines. EACH of three Lines are hook to the springs themselfs. I just wonder about the duarable of the reels and the case.

| I concur with Tim that, having now seen them, my chief concern would be with the case, which is of ~ 3 mm thick sheet aluminum. It in general wouldn't be a problem, but the low, flat shape of the reels makes it more likely that they might be accidentally stepped upon, which might bend the sheet metal of the upper cover enough to interfere with the spool. On the whole, though, they look well made, with what appears to be good quality cable. One other nice item is that they come with a manual that includes instructions for disassembly, and a comprehensive catalog of replacement parts. Only experience can tell how the implementation of the three spring system will hold up.
At the price (US$275 from Zivkovic or SwordMasters, or Eu 180 direct from Favero), they're instantly a better choice than Russian reels for anyone on a budget. I'll certainly give them consideration the next time I have to buy reels.

| At 550.00 a set they come with a carrying case and two well made floor cords. I will also be carrying them as well. Zivkovic is shipping a set out to me. I also now have a new supply of Ben Zivkovic handles as well Plus washable lames for 115.00 from Ben as well.

| Favaro Reels We have had a set of the Favaro reels for over a year now when they first came out. They seem durable so far.
We have been and are concerned with the "step like" design in them but we have fixed the problem by putting a small cone (with a little tape) on top of them in tournaments.
Just a thought it's not a real fix. |

| We have had a set of Favro reels for over year now and they have held up GREAT.
My club can normaly break just about anything. So far the reels are still going strong. There is a little where on the reel cord but I think that is from it rubbing on a sharp edge on a metalic strip that was not taped down properly.
The carry case on the other hand is just nor strong enough to carry the two reels on a regular basis; the handle breaks.
We have not had to repair the reels yet but I did open one up and look around. It looks like it will take a little expertise to repair.
Oh. & the "step like" design does tempt people to want to stand on them. I still can't figure that one out. I'm tempted to put a sign on the reel: "don't %$#@ing stand on me!" but have resisted.
Good Luck

I especially like the spring on the wire to mitigate the letting it drop half way down the strip problem. Am contemplating how to do that for other reel designs.

| These reels also have a centrifugal brake so when one of your fencers drops the end, the brake slows the connector's return. |
