Array breaking a bad habit with the coup'e hi y'all this is my first post on here so bear with me if it looks crappy k?..... ok my question is i have recently developed a bad habit of going down with my hand before starting the coupe as i have done this move before(alot) i dont know why im doing this and even worse i dont realize i do it ,.......my coach says its telegraphing so it pretty much just telling the other fencer what your doing....how can i correct this?!? is it just a mental thing or am i going to have to start from the beginning doing it slow and work my way up again? any input would be sooo helpful thanx -
when training in the club tell the judge to card you every time you do it. if you don't want to do that just get someone critical watching you fence and tell you each time you do it. you just have to try and correct it and it will over time. -

Array ...or use a video to allow you to see what your coach means and how uncool it looks.
Practise more in front of a full-length mirror...
Cut your arm off and start anew with the other arm:
this time think:
point or, if you're a sabreur, blade first.
relax your body... and generally relax.
think you're Joe cool.
