Array Wrist Strap My son, who fences with a french grip only, recently read the book 'On Fencing' by Aldo Nadi. In the book, he mentioned a wrist strap, but no one who fences with a french grip (and there are a considerable number) to my surprise in and around the area who fence with a french grip, but don't use the strap. Is the strap now illegal?
Can one of my "wise commrades" answer this one for me? -

Array This was discussed a while ago: http://www.fencing101.com/vb/showthr...s=&postid=9292
A quick search under "search posts" on the phrase wrist strap generated quite a list of topics.

Array It was an interesting thread.. first it was sorted out that it was illegal in the thread through various posting, but used to be mandatory when we fenced dry in the organization before the USFA. Just when I figured it was all sorted out for good arrives the email from Bill from the FOC saying it was legal to use in all competitions, and now its in the FAQ on the USFA site that its illegal to use them. -
Quit (no longer with us)
Array i've always understood the wrist strap to be illegal, it was explained to us in like 1978 and so on that it's illegal; however, i do know that some people use the wrist strap because they're teaching and don't want to lose their grip! Similar Threads -
