Ok, I know we have done this before but I'm looking for advice...
Work has forced me to move to a place where fencing seems to be non exsistant... I have found clubs but the contact details are either wrong or no one is replying to my emails.
I have maintained my membership with my former state association and thus will still be doing the national circut (finances willing).
Before I left Qld I had highlighted things I had to work on...balance, distance etc. I have started Pilates to help with the balance, but what can I do (I dont have a gym membership) to work on distance etc. Any suggestions would be appreciated....
Thanks

Zelda, good luck in finding a place to fence. For workouts in the interim I recommend investing in a very large mirror and working on footwork to your favorite tunes. Marty

Don't do footwork to music, unless it's mindless repetitive music.

As for distance, play basketball or some other sport that utilizes peripheral vision. Distance is based on being aware of all of the other fencer's movements, being able to watch feet and blade and body at the same time. Basketball is good for that, maybe some other sports are better, I duno.
